Description: Two Rainbow Bell Baby Rattles Recalled By TDT Company NEWS from CPSC U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission Office of Information and Public Affairs Washington, DC 20207 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE August 8, 1988 Release # 88-66 TDT Company Recalls Two Rainbow Bell Baby Rattles WASHINGTON, DC - In cooperation with the U.S Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) , TDT Company, Los Angeles, California is voluntarily recalling two Rainbow Bell baby rattles which present a choking hazard to infants. One model, item CT-8013 , is multi-colored plastic with a handle of beads at one end and 4 bell-shaped noisemakers in a circle at the other. The item is labeled, "CT Made in Taiwan." Approximately 115, 200 of these baby rattles were sold between July, 1987 and January 1983 for $0.35. The other model, item R0088013 has three bulbs attached to a handle by flexible stems. The two outside bulbs are shaped like the heads of chicks, the center bulb is oval shaped with a ridge around the circumference. Each bulb has a metal bell inside it. Approximately 115, 200 of these baby rattles were sold between July 1987 and January 1988 for $0.35. The handles of both rattles are small enough to enter a child's mouth and long enough to reach the back of the throat. The metal bells can also detach. Neither CPSC nor TDT Company knows of any injuries caused by these rattles. Consumers should return the rattles to the retail store where purchased for a full refund of the purchase price.
