Description: Watts Water Technologies Recalls Rotor and Shaft Assemblies Due to Fire Hazard Recall Alert U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission Office of Information and Public Affairs Washington, DC 20207 November 20, 2008 Alert #09-710 Watts Water Technologies Recalls Rotor and Shaft Assemblies Due to Fire Hazard The following product safety recall was voluntarily conducted by the firm in cooperation with the CPSC. Name of Product: EDP 3112 Rotor and Shaft Assemblies Units: About 15 Distributor: Watts Water Technologies Inc., of North Andover, Mass. Hazard: If the assembly was installed in a fire suppression system and remained in a closed position, sufficient water might not have been available in the event of a fire. This posed a fire hazard to consumers. Incidents/Injuries: None reported. Description: The Rotor and Shaft Assembly was sold separately or as part of the model F10-13 Float Pilot. These components are used in certain fire suppression systems and domestic water supply applications. Sold through: Distributors and contractors from December 2007 through August 2008 for about $420. Manufactured in: United States Remedy: Distributors, contractors and consumers with the recalled rotor and shaft assemblies were contacted directly and the affected units were replaced.
