Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product. Name of Product: Boys’ Hooded Sweatshirts Units: About 5,000 Distributor: Kidz World Inc., d/b/a High Energy USA, of New York, N.Y. Hazard: The sweatshirts have a drawstring through hood which poses a strangulation hazard to children. In February 1996, CPSC issued guidelines (pdf) to help prevent children from strangling or getting entangled on the neck and waist by drawstrings in upper garments, such as jackets and sweatshirts. Incidents/Injuries: None reported. Description: The recalled boys’ sweatshirts are hooded and have a zipper up the front. They were sold in boys’ sizes small and medium. The style number, and “High Energy” or “Energy Clothing Company,” are printed on the sewn-in neck tag. The following styles are included in this recall.
