Description: The rim tape is a yellow plastic strip that was provided for free with the purchase of FLO 60, FLO 90 and FLO DISC wheels. The number 700X18 A/V is printed on the tape. The serial number is located either on the wheel rim under the tube or on the outer edge of the disc wheel. Hazard | The rim tape can fail and break under pressure. When this happens, the inner tube of the bicycle can puncture or burst. This poses a fall hazard to the rider. |
Injuries | The firm has received four reports of exploding inner tubes and flat tires. No injuries were reported. |
Remedy | Consumers should contact FLO Cycling to receive a $5 refund for each wheel purchased. The firm is contacting consumers who purchased wheels with the recalled rim tape directly. |
