Description: Douglas Company Recall of Plush Toys Recall Alert U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission Office of Information and Public Affairs Washington, DC 20207 September 19, 2005 Alert #05-602 CPSC, Douglas Company Announce Recall of Plush Toys The following product safety recall was conducted voluntarily by the firm in cooperation with the CPSC. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product. Name of Product: Sparkle Horse Toys Units: About 1,100 Distributor: Douglas Company, of Keene, N.H. Hazard: Beads of glitter glue on the colored ribbons could detach and pose an aspiration hazard to young children. Incidents/Injuries: None reported. This possible hazard was detected by the firm's testing. Description: The toy is a plush, white standing horse measuring about 9-inches tall, with pink or lavender hooves. Colored ribbons (pink and lavender) are mixed in with the white mane and tail of the stuffed horses. Sold at: Specialty toy and gift stores nationwide between July 2005 and August 2005 for about $9. Manufactured in: China Remedy: Consumers should take these recalled toys away from children immediately and return the horse to Douglas Company to receive a replacement product.
