Description: Meijer Recalls Glass Candleholders for Fire and Laceration Hazards NEWS from CPSC U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission Office of Information and Public Affairs Washington, DC 20207 July 26, 2006 Alert #06-568 Meijer Recalls Glass Candleholders for Fire and Laceration Hazards The following product safety recall was voluntarily conducted by the firm in cooperation with the CPSC. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product. Name of Product: Clear Glass Candleholders Units: About 6,500 Distributor: Meijer, of Grand Rapids, Mich. Hazard: The glue connecting the candleholder could fail causing the candleholder to fall apart. This poses a fire and laceration hazard to consumers. Incidents/Injuries: None reported Description: The clear glass candleholders are vase-shaped and measure about 11-inches tall. "At Home with Meijer" is printed on a label on the bottom of the candleholders. Sold exclusively at: Meijer stores in the Midwest from September 2004 through November 2005 for about $8. Manufactured In: China Remedy: Consumers should stop using the recalled candleholders immediately and return them to any Meijer store for a full refund.
