Description: BCI Burke Recalls Buckle Bridges on Series 2000 Playgrounds Recall Alert U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission Office of Information and Public Affairs Washington, DC 20207 August 20, 2002 Alert #02-554 CPSC, BCI Burke Announce Recall of Buckle Bridges on Series 2000 Playgrounds PRODUCT: Buckle Bridges - BCI Burke Company, of Fond du Lac, Wis., is recalling 46 Buckle Bridges for repair. These bridges are attached to steel platforms on Series 2000 modular playgrounds. The bridges are made of hinged metal sections and connect one platform to another. BCI Burke sold the Buckle Bridges with the Series 2000 modular playgrounds nationwide from April 2001 to June 2002 for between $2000 and $2900. PROBLEM: The platform edge, where the bridges are attached, can crack and the bridge could potentially detach from the platform and result in injuries. INCIDENTS/INJURIES: None reported. WHAT TO DO: Consumers should stop using the bridges immediately and call BCI Burke at (800) 266-1250 between 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. CT Monday through Friday to receive a retrofit kit.
