Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product. Name of Product: Bandsaws Units: About 500 Importer: Grizzly Industrial, of Bellingham, Wash. Hazard: Some of the recalled bandsaws do not have a grounding wire installed, which poses an electric shock hazard to consumers. Incidents/Injuries: None reported. Description: The recall involves the G0640X 17-inch metal/wood bandsaw with an inverter motor. The product’s model number (G0640X) is printed on the front of the machine. Sold at: Grizzly’s showrooms, catalog and Web site, and Amazon.com from February 2008 through July 2009 for about $1,600. Manufactured in: Taiwan Remedy: Consumers should stop using the recalled bandsaws immediately until the repair kit is installed. The firm is sending repair kits directly to consumers.
